Overview

OfferLand is committed to creating a platform for overseas study and work exchange. Here, users can share their application experiences and processes to help others who wish to apply for programs in countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, or even across Europe.

Initially, after the outsourced designer completed the website, I joined the team to lead the optimization of the visual presentation of information on the pages, design user flows, create new feature pages, and continually improve the user experience based on periodic user interviews.

As a result of continuous optimization efforts, the platform now has a stable user base each month, with users browsing, adding new test scores, and sharing their application results.

THE PROBLEM

Users are unable to remain on our website for long because of the visual inefficiency of the information presented.

The content feels incomplete and disjointed.

One unit of an individual's result before

Most users visit our website on mobile. However, the previous layout wasn’t designed with mobile in mind. As a result, users often leave quickly.

The key issues?

Too much empty space, poor readability, and a confusing hierarchy of information.

Excessive whitespace makes scanning on mobile frustrating.

Important content is buried, while irrelevant details stand out.

The structure fails to guide the user’s eye or hold their attention.

New upper section of an result unit

In the upper section, I focused on restructuring the layout to better serve mobile users. I reduced excessive whitespace and reorganized the content blocks to create a more compact, readable flow. Key information—such as user identity, academic background, and application results—was repositioned for immediate visibility.

The goal was to eliminate friction: users should be able to understand the core message at a glance, without needing to scroll or guess where to look.

Remove icons to make the important info prominent.

Adjust the size of the text to fit the mobile reading experience.

Add a handle to expand/close unprioritized information.

New lower section of an result unit

In the lower section, I refined the visual hierarchy to guide attention more intentionally. I adjusted font weights, spacing, and alignment to ensure that important insights stand out, while secondary details remain accessible but unobtrusive.

The result is a more balanced composition that feels deliberate and calm. Every element now has a clear role, contributing to a smoother, more focused user experience.

Replace the huge label that shows the result of each application.

Clearly indicate the country, degree, date, program, and school.

Allow room for additional results, and display 3 by default.

The changes in UI and information hierarchy make users remain more engaged than before by 102%.

Extending the Experience

New features, new thinking.

Mentor Profile & Mentor List

The Mentor Profile is built to showcase credibility through results. Each profile clearly outlines the countries the mentor specializes in for study abroad services—such as application guidance or consulting—alongside a concise summary of their professional background.

What sets this feature apart is its emphasis on real-world impact: client testimonials and successful application outcomes are front and center, offering tangible proof of the mentor’s effectiveness. It’s a streamlined, no-fluff presentation of expertise, designed to build trust through transparency and performance.

Interviews Forum

The Interview Forum is a space built for clarity and contribution. Whether you’re applying for a graduate program or your first job, this is where real experiences get shared. Users can post details of their interviews—who the interviewer was, when it took place, what questions were asked, and how it went. Each entry adds to a growing archive of insights, organized by position, program, and company.

It’s not just about collecting questions. It’s about context. You’ll see how others answered, what they wish they’d said, and what actually worked. That way, if you’re walking into a similar interview, you’re not going in blind—you’re going in prepared.

This forum is built on trust and honesty. Successes and rejections are equally valuable here. Every story helps someone else take the next step with more confidence. The goal is simple: make interviews less mysterious, and preparation more human.

Network

Networking is where connections become catalysts. This space is built for exchange—not just of information, but of momentum. Here, experienced mentors can support those just starting out. Whether you’re looking for guidance on schools, industries, or life in a new country, this is where the right people become visible.

You can search by location, field of study, or even a short self-introduction. It’s not about collecting contacts. It’s about finding people who’ve walked the path you’re on, and who are open to sharing what they’ve learned.

This isn’t a feed. It’s a network with intention. A place where generosity meets curiosity. Where someone’s journey can quietly change the course of someone else’s. That’s the kind of connection that matters.
